Chinese New Year Light-Up 2018

With the theme "Blossoms of Happiness and Prosperity", organised by the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee, this year light-up is powered by around 13,000 LED light bulbs and stretches more than 800m along Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and South Bridge Road.

2,188 handcrafted lanterns, of which 88 depict dogs, were designed in collaboration with the Singapore University of Technology and Design for the seventh year in a row, will adorn the streets during the street light-up.

The street light-up will take place from 7 pm to midnight from Sundays to Thursdays, and be extended till 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. On 16 and 17 February, the first and second days of Chinese New Year 2018, the light-up will continue overnight till 6 am the next morning.

Besides the light up, visitors can enjoy a host of activities, including the 420-stall Festive Street Bazaar from January 26 to February 15, the Flower Market, the Chinatown Chinese New Year Countdown Party on February 15, and the Chingay 2018 @ Chinatown on February 25.

Visitors may want to take note on the highlights happening in Chinatown.
